UGraph Data Processing Software

Application


uGraph is a Microsoft Windows based program designed for the non-realtime presentation of data obtained using CR1000 / CR800 datalogger in graphic as well as tabular formats. With proper configuration, uGraph has been successfully used for instrumentation projects including multi-stories buildings, tunnels, deep excavations, railways, subway systems, airports, dams, and hydroelectric schemes.

Data Acquisition

uGraph is primarily designed for use with data collected with Campbell Scientifics’ data loggers.  Before the data can be processed by uGraph, the data can be collected in the field with a portable PC running PC208W or a Palm PDA running PConnect and be transferred on to the  PC’s hard disk.  Alternatively, data can be collected remotely and automatically via communication devices such as short-haul modem, telephone modem and radio modem, etc.

Data Processing

uGraph organizes data from data logger into project database.  Raw data from up to 200 sensors per logger are processed and stored in a database that is compatible with Microsoft’s Access 97.  Information including the sensor’s calibration factors and how to present the data are also contained in the database.

Graphical Data Presentation

uGraph comes with facilities to graph and to replay historical data for reporting and post analysis. The data can be displayed in trend graphs, in profile plots, or in plan view or section view similar to the real-time display.

Plan or Section View

The readings of the sensors are displayed over images of site in plan view, section view, or actual photograph as the example on the right.

Alarm Checking

Up to three alarm thresholds can be assigned to each sensor.  While running in plan or section view, uGraph will test readings from each sensor against the alarm limits and display the readings in green, blue, amber, and red accordingly.  The figure below showed sensor readings are displayed in appropriate locations, color-coded for alarm status, and with instant access to trend plots for past three days.
